Description:
Located at 1,224 meters of altitude, on a slope that dominates the valley of Tena. The origins of this stone house made of wood and slate go back to 1470, when it used to be an abbey. Juan Ignacio Perez and his wife, Anabel Costas, have put huge effort into ensuring that the guest has the best facilities at their finger tips and some of the best views. The hotel nestles among the traditional family houses that define the village of Tramacastilla de Tena: a village surrounded by pine and oak groves and alpine meadows. All 28 rooms have been designed by the architect Luis Serrano. The bare stone walls contribute to the rustic feel of the hotel while rooms have the very latest amenities and are of modern design. Some of the rooms are designed individually. For disabled people we have a suite with views of the valley and a superior double with sloping ceilings. The biggest room in the hotel is a suite of 100 m2 and has incredible views of the valley that can be viewed through the room's very own tripoded telescope. We are near the two ski resorts of Panticosa and Formigal (4 km. and 12 Km) and there are cross-country skiing facilities in the village. The hotel can inform guests about adventure sports of all kinds: ravine descent, rafting, hydro-speed, canoeing, trekking, rappelling, via ferrata, and horse-riding. The hotel can arrange bookings for a tourist train and can facilitate visits to the Tramacastilla and Piedrafita glacial lakes, La Cuniacha Fauna Park, the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, and the Artouste train (French Pyrenees). El Privilegio has spa facilities which include a large jacuzzi pool, a turkish bath hot room, massaging showers and a Well-Being hydrotherapy unit. We have a beauty therapist on hand during the day to provide beauty and massage treatments to guests in the Spa area of the hotel. Hotel El Privilegio has an excellent restaurant serving foods typical to the region and to Spain as a whole. The hotel serves food for all meal-times and can even manage the provision of pack lunches if required.
