The hall and breakfast room of welcoming Hotel Moderno are situated in the next door Hotel Zecchini, which belongs to the same hotel chain. The hotel is near the famous Lista di Spagna, a very central and lively area where guests can enjoy the typical Venetian atmosphere together with the convenience of being just a short distance from the most important places of Venice, in an area abounding in artistic and historical treasures! Taking Hotel Moderno as a starting point, guests can make the 'Grand Canal Tour' by public motorboat number 1, from Santa Lucia train station to Saint Mark's Square. During the tour you can admire the boats crossing the canal and all the wonderful palaces and coloured buildings situated on the sides of the canal. In St Mark's Square, the artistic and historical centre of the city, guests can visit the famous Doge's Palace, St Mark's church, the Bridge of Sighs and the Correr Museum. Guests can visit also famous Lido island, where the International Film Festival takes place every year in September. From Hotel Moderno to Lido Island by public motorboat number 51 or 52, it takes about 45 minutes. Several pubs and cafés are situated very close to the hotel. There is also a cinema (5 mins walking distance) a disco (1 min) and a public swimming pool (10 mins. The Rialto Bridge, the oldest area of the city, is also an easy walk away. Here there are some very small and cheap typical Venetian shops, as well as well-known expensive stores that are famous all over the world. Also not to be missed is the famous Jewish Ghetto, the oldest in Europe, where you can admire the synagogues and the Jewish Museum.
