It is in this peaceful country setting that we founded Refúgio da Vila Rural Hotel and Cooking School. Located in Portel, a small town outside Évora, the hotel is set in a Vila manor house, complete with pool and patios. Between cooking lessons in a kitchen that opens to a courtyard, and tours of the unspoiled countryside, our guests can relax in simple, but elegant rooms. The hotel is located at 25 minutes from Evora, and it occupies a manor house which stems from 1830. The building is decorated with frescoes and all the other decorations are in perfect harmony with them, creating an elegant, comfortable and cosy atmosphere in the hotel. Near the hotel, the Alqueva dam is perfect for practicing aquatic sports and also close by, there is a winery where you can experience the whole process of wine making. It is also possible to taste the wine here.
