The Porta Nuova Hotel stands at just a few meters from the Mediaeval gate giving entrance to the centre of the old town. Easy to reach on foot, it also has private parking facilities. Accomodation is in 20 modernly furnished rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, colour TV and air conditioning. Thank to is position and the comforts it offers, this hotel is ideal for tourists wishing to spend their time visiting in and around the town, which is an art treasure in itself, and the birthplace of St. Francis. Built in 1988 with the typical pink Assisi's stones, the Hotel Porta Nuova, originally a big private house, is excellently located in strategic central position in Umbria (in less than two hours you can reach all the boundaries of the region). It's also possible to buy tickets for tours, events, theatre shows directly at the reception of the hotel. The familiar management make the atmosphere warm and relaxing.
