Description:
Less than 30 minutes from the town, the islands of Oléron, Aix and Ré offer their beautiful beaches and horizons. Town of art and traditions, Rochefort benefits from the fresh Atlantic Ocean air coming from the nearby ocean. The setting of Jacques Demy's musical comedy 'Les Demoiselles de Rochefort' (starring Catherine Deneuve and Gene Kelly), it keeps all the charms of a protected country town. Inland, the scene is one of serenity, with vast horizons and wooded valleys, the Poitou fens and Marais Poitevin, the soothing tranquility of canals, the valley of Vienne, the foothills of Charente and the Cognac vineyards.
