Cheltenham Racecourse is on the doorstep and the Regency splendour and excellent shopping of Cheltenham itself are only minutes away ( 1.5 miles to centre of town ). Walks abound around the famous villages of the Cotswolds, while further afield Shakespeare's Stratford, beautiful Bath and the dreaming spires of Oxford await discovery. One of the real joys of staying in a privately-owned hotel, particularly one dating back to the early 1600s, is the individuality family ownership brings - from the flowers in the entrance hall to the decor in each bedroom.
