Named after a master stonemason who was prominent in Leeds at the turn of the century, Haley's Hotel and Restaurant, an AA 4 Star Townhouse, is now established as one of the City's finest hotels with a string of prestigious awards. Haley's owner has learned lessons from his sojourns in many hotels - and it shows - but the hard thing to remember is that you are just two miles out of the city. Beautifully designed deluxe rooms in neighbouring Bedford House, a Grade II listed building, once the home of a Victorian gentleman. Leeds has lots to offer visitors. 'Musts' are the Royal Armouries which house the Tower of London's collection of arms and Thackray Medical Museum at 'Jimmy's' Hospital which tells the story of early surgery and slum life in Victorian times. Shopping is second to none with an excellent selection and variety of stores, including the fashionable and exclusive Harvey Nichols, the wonderfully restored arcades in the Victoria Quarter with boutiques and designer stores.
