Turkey is a country that keeps very close to its ancestry with many of the cultures, festivals and ceremonies being thousands and thousands of years old. Though Turkey is very set in its ways on a lot of its culture it does have a large variety of people from all different backgrounds. With many different religions all across Turkey ranging from Islamic through to Christian it is a very diverse country. This can be seen in the ruins being uncovered across Turkey by historians and archaeologists alike with tens of thousands of years of history being uncovered year by year and so Turkey would be ideal for the budding historian to visit or even artists to find inspiration as all of these ruins contain so much information about ancient Turkey and are filled with ancient art magnificently preserved through the years of time. However Turkey is not only for historians and artists it has a lot to offer many holiday goers, for example the nature covering turkey from the beautiful mountain ranges covered in little Turkish villages all the way through to rolling coast lines bordered by the Mediterranean on one side and lush thick woodlands on the other. Or if you prefer to visit citys than be out in the open Istanbul is a fantastic place to visit with so many back streets and corner shops it would be easy to get lost in such a maze of sights and scents or even sounds as the Turkish are famed for their ancient music that could’ve been composed a few months ago rather than thousands of years ago.
